Together with Dirk Wazlaweck from Inger Verlag, we visited the Schäfer Dein Bäcker bakery and were able to experience the impressive results of our successful collaboration with the bakery live on site.
Schäfer Dein Bäcker’s recipe for success includes a well-stocked range of products that will win you over all day long. The feedback from customers speaks for itself: they praise the freshness and taste of the products and emphasize the “great range”. Until recently, however, there was a catch: the returns rate was above the industry average. The decision to optimize returns management was not an easy one. Previously, the stores worked with a traditional system in which checkout suggestions were adjusted manually, which led to difficulties, especially for inexperienced store managers. To increase efficiency, team leader Alexander Graf invited various providers to a test run. The goal was clear: to increase customer satisfaction without compromising the quality and variety of the products.
After months of testing several providers, our software was identified as the planning solution that mastered the unique combination of reducing the returns rate and identifying sales potential at the same time. One particular advantage was the direct access to ALDI’s checkout data, which helped Schäfer to react more quickly to sales developments and tap into untapped sales potential. Another plus point for Schäfer was the exceptional user-friendliness of our user interface. This enabled the bakery to set parameters such as the risk of a sell-out entirely according to its individual needs. This flexibility made it much easier to control delivery quantities precisely, so that even inexperienced store managers were able to navigate the planning effortlessly. The returns rate was reduced by a third, while sales increased at the same time. An outstanding success, which we are very pleased about!
We would like to thank Schäfer for the close cooperation and the consistently positive feedback. It is particularly pleasing to hear that the Schäfer bakery was aware that their suggestions for improvement were always actively taken up and quickly implemented. Dr. Fabian Taigel, Managing Director of AIPERIA, emphasizes the importance of continuous optimization: “Every adaptation ultimately benefits our customers. We are constantly working to improve the performance of our AI to meet the specific requirements of the industry.”
The success story of Schäfer Dein Bäcker impressively demonstrates how innovative technologies can set new standards in bakeries. At AIPERIA, we firmly believe that technology is not just a tool, but a partner in our customers’ success.
